This is the famed Purnell - Empie House and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and with the Historic Wilmington Foundation. The home has an incredible history locally including being the residence of Hannah Block who served as Wilmington's first woman Council Member and the first female lifeguard in NC. She had a history of performance and was a institution with respect to the Historic District and Preservation. There are a total of 6 units and two are offered as furnished rentals that include cable, wifi, parking, fireplaces, tall ceilings, and very cool details. The Purnell Empie House has a long tradition of hospitality and we love to open our doors to residents that appreciate history and architecture. Come stay awhile and live in History.
